Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Q. Do you treat children at your practice?

    A. Ideally, we love children to come in for their first dental visit around the age of three. This helps establish a positive and friendly relationship between our staff and your children. Sometimes it helps ease a child’s apprehension if they are allowed to come with an adult to a regular dental checkup.

  • Q. How often should I see a dentist?

    A. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends visiting a dentist at least twice a year for a checkup and professional cleaning. Our office also recommends a minimum of two visits per year.Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. • Q. What should I expect during my appointment?

    A. We will examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer, make x-rays of your teeth as needed and complete a TMJ (jaw joint) exam. After we review your dental profile, we will discuss with you your diagnosis, presenting you with options for treatment and fee payment, helping you determine the best plan to fit your needs. During a regular preventive care visit, we will examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer, clean your teeth and make plans for treatment, as needed. We will discuss any pain or problems you may be experiencing and answer any questions you may have.

  • Q. What types of whitening procedures do you provide?

    A. There are several methods available for whitening teeth: in office, overnight or daily. We provide our patients with Zoom Whitening in our office. One session generally lasts one and a half to two hours. For overnight bleaching, we make an impression of your teeth and create a mouth guard that fits your bite. Each day you fill the mouth guard with a small amount of bleaching gel and wear it for the specified amount of time.Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. • Q. Are payment plans available?

    A. Yes. We accept many types of dental insurance and will process your claim for you upon receipt of your co-payment.  We accept most major credit cards. We have a special plan for braces. We offer a no interest payment plan through Care Credit.

  • Q. 5 Ways to make Brushing Fun for your Children

    A. Getting your kids to brush their teeth can be a daily battle, but by teaching them at an early age and making it fun, you can help them develop healthy brushing habits and good oral hygiene, that will last through their adult years.

    • Start with a visit to the dentist, and they will teach your child the proper way to brush.
    • Let your child pick out their own toothbrush and toothpaste. There are many colorful child size toothbrushes (one with soft, rounded bristles) available on the market today, as well as toothpastes in flavors that kids like.
    • If your home has more than one bathroom, keep a toothbrush in each. This will make it more convenient.
    • Use colorful stickers on your child's plate at mealtime as a reminder to brush.
    • Children learn by example, so allow them to watch you brush your teeth and encourage them to brush while you're brushing.
